1-Heptanammonium iodide (HeptAI) carries a seven-carbon chain, long enough that the cation no longer fits inside a three-dimensional perovskite cage and instead templates layered, low-dimensional iodide perovskites. Such long-chain spacers are routinely used to build Ruddlesden-Popper phases with strong quantum confinement and improved moisture resistance. This grade passes through four purification steps to reach >=99.5% purity, dissolves in DMF and DMSO, and is packaged under argon with protection from light, moisture and air.
