1,12-Dodecanediammonium dibromide is the dihydrobromide of 1,12-dodecanediamine, an alpha-omega diammonium salt whose two terminal ammonium groups are joined by a twelve-carbon polymethylene chain. Such long-chain diammonium bromides act as perovskite precursors when doubly anchored organic spacers are needed to bridge adjacent inorganic sheets in low-dimensional halide perovskite structures. Refined through four purification cycles to >=99.5%, the salt dissolves in most organic solvents and is kept protected from light at room temperature under argon because it is sensitive to moisture, air and light.
