Cat No:BMSPEM-0168
4-tert-Butylphenylammonium iodide is the hydroiodide of 4-tert-butylaniline and the iodide member of the tert-butyl substituted aryl ammonium series. The tert-butyl group adds steric bulk and hydrophobicity to the aromatic cation, a combination used in perovskite precursor design to modify crystal dimensionality and to slow moisture ingress at the film surface. Supplied at >=99% after four purification cycles, the salt dissolves in DMF and DMSO for solution processing and is handled as a moisture-, air- and light-sensitive solid under argon.
