5-Aminovaleric acid hydrobromide (5-AVABr) is a four-times-purified omega-amino acid hydrobromide salt supplied at >=99.5% purity as a perovskite precursor. The five-carbon backbone carries a protonated amine at one end and a carboxylic acid at the other, giving the zwitterionic precursor both ionic and hydrogen-bonding functionality for halide perovskite formulations. The compound dissolves in DMF and DMSO and is stored under argon with protection from light and moisture.
