Description

Butylammonium chloride (BACl) is the hydrochloride of n-butylamine and one of the classic spacer cations for two-dimensional hybrid perovskites, where the butyl chain separates inorganic sheets and produces strong quantum confinement. Literature on these layered systems includes work on centimeter-sized 2D hybrid perovskite nanosheets whose magnetic and optical response can be tuned through halide substitution. The salt is refined through four purification passes to >=99.5%, melts at 212-217 C, and shows high solubility in DMF, DMSO and water.
