Description

Butylammonium iodide (BAI) is used as an additive that improves both the efficiency and the operational stability of perovskite solar cells, largely by passivating defects and templating a thin low-dimensional capping layer on the absorber. The same cation also works as an organic ligand for preparing organic-inorganic perovskites destined for light-emitting diodes. More generally, iodide and bromide alkylammonium halides form the precursor pool for photovoltaic perovskites. This lot is purified four times to >=99% and is sensitive to moisture, air and light.
