Cobalt sulfide, also referred to as cobalt disulfide, is a transition metal sulfide with the formula CoS2 and a molecular weight of 123.06. The material has a density of 4.23 g/cm3, melts at approximately 400 degrees Celsius, is slightly soluble in acid, and is insoluble in water.
