Ethylenediamine dihydroiodide (EDAI) delivers two iodides and two ammonium groups per molecule, making it an efficient diammonium diiodide bridge for iodide-based hybrid perovskites. The doubly protonated cation has been used in perovskite solar cell studies aimed at strain regulation at buried interfaces and at efficiency and stability gains enabled by mesoporous scaffold architectures, and it is cited in the crystallization and organic synthesis literature as well. Supplied at >=99.5% purity after four purification passes, the solid is moisture-, air- and light-sensitive and dissolves in DMF and DMSO.
