m-Phenylenediammonium diiodide (mPhDADI) is the dihydroiodide of m-phenylenediamine, carrying two ammonium groups at the 1- and 3-positions of a benzene ring. Both protonated amines can anchor to the inorganic framework, so the rigid meta-phenylene core acts as an angular diammonium bridge, a geometry explored for aromatic diammonium-based layered perovskites in which ring orientation controls interlayer spacing and electronic coupling. The reagent is purified four times to >=99%, dissolves in DMF and DMSO, and is stored under argon protected from light, moisture and air.
