Description

Morpholine brings a ring oxygen into the cation, and that single heteroatom changes hydrogen bonding and polarity enough to alter how a perovskite film nucleates. As the hydrobromide it becomes a stable, water-soluble solid melting at 212°C, far easier to handle than free morpholine with its volatility and amine odour. It is also the standard way to introduce a morpholine unit in synthetic work when precise stoichiometry is needed. The salt is both hygroscopic and light sensitive, so it is shipped in amber packaging and stored under argon. Minimum assay is 97%.
