Description

Eata Battery supplies lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC, LiNixMnyCozO2) layered cathode powders in four compositions for lithium-ion battery systems. The NMC811 grade (LiNi0.83Mn0.05Co0.12O2) shows a tap density of 2.0 g/cm3 or higher (typical 2.464 g/cm3), D50 of 10.0-14.0 um, specific surface area of 0.10-0.60 m2/g, moisture of 0.03% or lower, a 0.1C coin cell capacity of 200 mAh/g or higher (typical 207.42 mAh/g) and a first efficiency of 90% or higher (typical 90.59%). The NMC622 grade delivers a first discharge capacity of 180 mAh/g or higher (typical 187 mAh/g) with a first efficiency of 87% or higher (typical 88%), D50 of 4.0 +/- 1.0 um, BET of 0.5 +/- 0.2 m2/g, tap density of 1.8 +/- 0.2 g/cm3, LiOH of 0.20 wt% or lower and Li2CO3 of 0.20 wt% or lower. The NMC532 grade has D50 of 8.0-12.0 um (typical 10.6 um), BET of 0.20-0.60 m2/g, tap density of 2.0 g/cm3 or higher (typical 2.20 g/cm3), Li content of 7.0-8% and Ni+Co+Mn content of 57-62%. The NMC111 grade contains Li at 7.3-7.9%, Ni at 20.6 +/- 1.0%, Co at 21.0 +/- 1.0% and Mn at 16.60 +/- 1.0%, with D50 of 7.5 +/- 1.0 um, specific surface area of 0.25-0.45 m2/g, tap density of 2.20 g/cm3 or lower, water content of 500 ug/g or lower and pH of 12.0 or lower.
