Description

o-Phenylenediammonium diiodide (oPhDADI), also called benzene-1,2-diamine dihydroiodide, places its two ammonium groups on adjacent carbons of the benzene ring. This ortho arrangement fixes the two anchoring points close together, so the cation chelates a single inorganic sheet edge rather than spanning distant sheets, producing a distinctive coordination geometry among aromatic diammonium perovskite precursors. The salt is refined through four purification passes to >=99.5%, dissolves in DMF and DMSO, and requires storage under argon away from light, moisture and air.
