Description

OAC1 is an Oct4-activating compound used in induced pluripotent stem-cell research. In the presence of Oct4, Sox2, c-Myc, and Klf4, it increased and accelerated reprogramming 20-fold compared with the four factors alone. It induces Oct4, Sox2, Nanog, and Tet1 mRNA expression without affecting the p53–p21 or Wnt–β-catenin signaling pathways.
