Cat No:BMSPEM-0190
Octylammonium lead iodide ((C8H17NH3)2PbI4, (OA)2PbI4) is a layered lead iodide perovskite built from octylammonium bilayers and lead iodide sheets. The eight-carbon chain gives one of the largest organic-to-inorganic ratios in the alkylammonium lead iodide series, which strongly affects quantum confinement and interlayer coupling; the compound therefore serves as a perovskite precursor in dimensionality and film-formation studies. It is supplied at >=99%, dissolves in DMF and DMSO, and is stored in the dark under argon as a moisture-, air- and light-sensitive powder.
