Description

Phenethylammonium iodide (PEAI) is the hydroiodide of 2-phenylethylamine and the most widely used bulky aromatic spacer for two-dimensional and quasi-2D halide perovskites. Peer-reviewed studies employ it in cation engineering of near-infrared quasi-2D perovskite light-emitting diodes, in hybrid interconnecting layers for perovskite/silicon tandems, in doped CsPbI3 composite films for white-light LEDs, in 2D perovskite/CdSe type-II heterojunction photodetectors and in 2D perovskite all-optical synapses. Supplied at >=99.5% purity after four purification passes, the hygroscopic salt melts at 259 C, dissolves readily in ethanol, DMF, DMSO and water, and is stored under argon protected from light.
