Description

Phenylammonium iodide (PhAI), also called anilinium iodide, is the hydroiodide of aniline and the iodide member of the aryl ammonium halide family. Iodide- and bromide-based alkylated halides of this type serve as precursors for fabricating perovskites for photovoltaic applications, and the directly attached phenyl ring additionally enables pi-pi stacking between organic layers in low-dimensional architectures. The salt is refined through four purification passes to >=99%, dissolves in ethanol, DMF, DMSO and water, and ships as a light-protected, argon-packed solid sensitive to moisture, air and light.
