Lithium triborate (LBO) crystal is a nonlinear optical crystal with low absorption and high damage threshold, featuring broad phase-matching range and excellent beam quality, widely used in high-power laser frequency conversion (e.g., UV/green light generation).

Applications

Applications Laser frequency doubling. LBO crystals can be used for second and third harmonic generation in Nd:YAG, Ti:Sapphire, and other lasers, producing lasers at wavelengths such as green and ultraviolet. Optically parametric oscillators (OPO) and optically parametric amplifiers (OPA). LBO crystals perform exceptionally well in OPOs and OPAs, enabling the generation of tunable laser outputs. Scientific research. LBO crystals are employed in research fields including quantum optics and nonlinear optics.
