Description

To effectively measure the reflectance of powders and highly absorbing viscous liquids, Avantes has introduced a specially designed reflection probe. Users simply insert the probe into the powder or viscous liquid. Light from the illumination source is coupled into a fiber bundle of six fibers via a standard SMA905 connector, which directly connects to the probe tip and illuminates the sample material through a 45-degree sapphire window. This angle prevents direct reflection from the window, improving the measurement dynamic range.

Basic Information

Optical Fiber Seven fibers with a core diameter of 200 μm, including six illumination fibers and one detection fiber, with an N.A. of 0.22 and a standard length of 2 meters.
Wavelength Range 200-2500 nm (UV/VIS/NIR)
Connector Two SMA905 connectors
Probe Terminal 316 stainless steel cylinder, 140 mm (length) x 6.0 mm (diameter). The probe tip includes a fused silica window with a diameter of 5 mm and a thickness of 1 mm. It is waterproof. Optional -PK (PEEK material) or -HY (Hastelloy C276 material) available.
Sleeve The optical fiber is protected by a silicone inner tube and a flexible stainless steel (BX, outer diameter 6.0 mm) or chrome-plated brass (ME, outer diameter 5.0 mm) outer sleeve. A waterproof stainless steel silicone sleeve option (-MS) is also available.
Operating Temperature -30°C to 100°C
Pressure Probe tip (or probe end) 10 bar @ 25°C
Bending Radius Short-term (a few seconds): 20 mm, Long-term: 120 mm
