Basic Information

Detailed Description The MEMS alcohol gas sensor utilizes MEMS technology to fabricate a micro-hotplate on a Si substrate. The gas-sensitive material used is a metal-oxide-semiconductor (MODS) material with low conductivity in clean air. When the sensor is in a gaseous environment, its conductivity changes with the concentration of the detected gas in the air. The higher the concentration of the gas, the higher the sensor's conductivity. A simple circuit can be used to convert the change in conductivity into an output signal corresponding to the gas concentration.
Main Applications It is suitable for detecting ethanol vapor in locations where consumer electronics products such as mobile phones and computers are used; it is also suitable for monitoring alcohol consumption by motor vehicle drivers and other personnel engaged in high-risk operations.
